You closed on your new home, what should you do next?

First, you have to make sure to have utilities turned on. Make sure you turn the breakers off at the electrical panel and shut the main water valve off before requesting electricity and water to be turned on.

It is also a good idea to fumigate the house before moving in. You may also want to paint it and perform minor repairs.

If you live in a single family home, make sure that you hire a landscaper to take care of your lawn and if the home has a pool, you should hire a pool cleaning company.

Take a drive around the neighborhood so you can become acquainted with the surrounding areas, how close you are to expressways, local commerce and gas stations.

If you have school aged children, it is time get to know the local schools.

Last, but not least, introduce yourself to your neighbors!
